It is the second highest summit of the chambeyron massif, after aiguille de chambeyron and its sharp, rocky peak dominates the upper ubaye valley. The mountain has 2 summits (the west one is the highest) ans is therefore sometimes named les aiguilles de chambeyron. The lower par of the mountain is made of triasic limestone but the summit is made of jurassic limestone (more solid). On the north side of the mountain are 2 small and quite dead glacier :
